Bunn's

1) Do not bottle up emotions. When you are happy, run and jump and dance! When you are angry, growl and grunt and snap at the people around you! Bunn finds that a swift, hard chomp on someone else's ankle, leg, or arm is therapeutic for relieving anger, regardless of whether that particular person was at fault for your bad mood. Don't worry; they'll forgive you, since you're so darned cute. Don't worry about hurting their feelings. Your feelings are much more important.

2) Live in the moment. Do not hold simmering grudges. If the person you're angry with comes with a peace offering of fresh cilantro, by all means go for it with gusto! This is easier for Bunn than for us humans, since he has a four-minute memory span, but we can try. Forgetting and forgiving is much easier than resisting fresh cilantro to be spiteful!

3) Don't worry about your looks. While it is important to keep clean and fresh-smelling (groom, groom, groom!), it is not important to make sure that you only sit in graceful positions, and that people only see your "good" side. Feel free to flop out on the floor and let your belly hang out.

4) Don't worry about what other people think of you or your habits. Feel free to inhale your food instead of eating it neatly. Also, feel free to take naps in your litterbox.

5) If you want attention, don't pout that you're being ignored. Just walk up to the person in question and shove your cute nose in his or her face.

Remember--you are irresistable!

What Is Metta?

Metta is an attitude of recognizing that all sentient beings (that is, all beings that are capable of feeling), can feel good or feel bad, and that all, given the choice, will choose the former over the latter.

Metta is a recognition of the most basic solidarity that we have with others, this sharing of a common aspiration to find fulfillment and escape suffering.

Metta is empathy. It's the willingness to see the world from another's point of view: to walk a mile in another person's shoes.

Metta is the desire that all sentient beings be well, or at least the ones we're currently thinking about or in contact with. It's wishing others well.

Metta is friendliness, consideration, kindness, generosity.

Metta is an attitude rather than just a feeling. It's an attitude of friendliness.

Metta is the basis for compassion. When our Metta meets another's suffering, then our Metta transforms into compassion.

Metta is the basis for shared joy. When our Metta meets with another's happiness or good fortune, then it transmutes into an empathetic joyfulness.

Metta is boundless. We can feel Metta for any sentient being, regardless of gender, race, or nationality.

Metta is the most fulfilling emotional state that we can know. It's the fulfillment of the emotional development of every being.

It's our inherent potential. To wish another well is to wish that they be in a state of experiencing Metta.

Metta is the answer to almost every problem the world faces today.
Money won't do it.
Technology won't do it.
Metta will.

I Am Passion

I am consumed with wanting but for what it is uncertain. I am still alive but a fire demon lives within me. The demon is scratching and screaming, trying to claw its way out. My blood is poisoned with its passion. I am restless, confined in my cage, with just enough space to pace. Back and forth, back and forth, it plans to escape this world. I know it will come, the day will come when it will run free...

Only one thing will bring peace and cease its torturing pleas. I have told you the name. It roars in the dark void of my mind, beckoning come find me. I look inside to search for the meaning of my existence. I demand definition of my destiny. Please tell me now...

I am a living torch one cannot extinguish. I will not be incinerated by the worlds tempestuous flames of hate. The only relief from its wrath, is found in your arms. In your presence, it eases, the longing subsides. Dare you let me close to scorch you with desire. Dare you be my brave knight and quench the fire of my soul....

Death Song

Live your life that the fear of death
Can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about his religion.
Respect others in their views
And demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life,
Beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long
And of service to your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day
When you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting
Or passing a friend, or even a stranger, if in a lonely place
Show respect to all people, but grovel to none.
When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light,
For your life, for your strength.
Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason to give thanks,
The fault lies in yourself.
Touch not the poisonous firewater
That makes wise ones turn to fools

And robs the spirit of its vision.
When your time comes to die, be not like those
Whose hearts are filled with fear of death,
So that when their time comes they weep and pray
For a little more time to live their lives over again
In a different way.
Sing your death song,

And may you die like a hero going home.

Curse

May those who love us, love us.

And those who don't love us,

May God turn their hearts;

And if He doesn't turn their hearts,

May He turn their ankles,

So we will know them by their limping.

Wave after Wave

I am beholding through the eyes of all.

I am working through all hands.

I am walking through all feet.

The brown, white, olive, yellow, red, and black

bodies are all mine.

I am thinking with the minds of all.

I am dreaming through all dreams.

I am feeling through all feelings.

The flowers of joy blooming on all hearts are mine.

I am eternal laughter.

My smiles are dancing through all faces.

I am the waves of enthusiasm in all God-tuned hearts.

I am the wind of wisdom that dries the sighs and sorrows

of all humanity.

I am the silent joy of life moving through all beings.

Thy Heart

Bestir thy heart
With journeys afar
And rivers of stars
Bestow thy love
On all that ye touch
On all that ye may
Hence, let it be told
That rhyme will be reason
Paint your world
With shades that will uplift you
And break, break from the mold
Shake off the illusions
Never again lost in dismay
All that you need is within you

Prophecy

Here is a river flowing now very fast.

It is so great and swift,

that there are those who will be afraid,

who will try to hold on to the shore,

they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know that the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore,

push off into the middle of the river,

and keep our heads above water.

And I say see who is there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history we are to take nothing personally,

least of all ourselves,
for the moment we do,

our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves.

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner

and in celebration.

For we are the ones we have been waiting for...

Life Is A Mirror

Yes your entire life is a mirror of what is going on in your counsciousness. It is a reflection of yourself. Each person, each event may be considered as a tool which can help you to know yourself better and better.

If you had a mirror which could perfectly reflect all that was inside of you, what would you see? Would you see a beautiful, magnificent world in the mirror, or would things look pretty much the same as they do right now?

To a large degree, the world around you is a mirror of that which is within you. You see what you look for. People treat you as you expect to be treated. The things you experience come from the actions you take.

Think of the world as a mirror of you, and consider whether or not you like what you see. More importantly, realize that you have the power to change it. Your world is a part of you. It is an expression of you. With your thoughts and actions, you can make it what you want it to be...

Truth

Although we live in what is called a free government, -- and politically we are free, -- there is but little religious liberty in America. Society demands, either that you belong to some church, or that you suppress your opinions. It is contended by many that ours is a Christian government, founded upon the Bible, and that all who look upon that book as false or foolish are destroying the foundation of our country.

The truth is, our government is not founded upon the rights of gods, but upon the rights of men. Our Constitution was framed, not to declare and uphold the deity of Christ, but the sacredness of humanity. Ours is the first government made by the people and for the people. It is the only nation with which the gods have had nothing to do. And yet there are some judges dishonest and cowardly enough to solemnly decide that this is a Christian country, and that our free institutions are based upon the infamous laws of Jehovah.

Such judges believe that decisions, made by hirelings at the bidding of kings, are binding upon man forever. They regard old law as far superior to modern justice. They are what might be called orthodox judges. They spend their days in finding out, not what ought to be, but what has been. With their backs to the sunrise thy worship the night. There is only one future event with which they concern themselves, and that is their reelection.

Accountability

How precious are those people within our life who
Hold us accountable for our actions and reactions...
A true friend does this without hesitation...
We may find the moment of accountability harsh or
Uncomfortable, but we always grow from the
Experience and are grateful for the lesson...
Oh, to look beyond our own little world and reach
Out to someone else...
Thinking of their needs...
Feeling their pains...
Rejoicing in their triumphs...
May each of us find true friends that will allow us
To grow beyond that which we never thought possible...

The Only One

He opened his eyes drawing his first breath. He looked up at his mother with his bright green eyes as she fell to the ground of the cave. Not understanding what was happening he stood up on his golden, beautiful, yet small, dragon legs.

He looked at the eggshell which he came from, the he looked at his fallen parents. Out of curiosity, he unfolded his bright golden wings watching them flex as the sunlight poured into the cave. The air was cold and he flexed his wings back to his body, because the thin skin of his wings got cold faster than any other part of his small body. It soon dawned on his bleek mind what was happening.

He was the only of his kind now, left to rule over the red, blue, green, and black dragons. It was his duty as the only golden dragon left. But as he walked outside the valley was empty exept for him. He let out a small moan hoping another dragon would hear and come to his aid.

Alas, he assumed he was the only dragon left on that cold and foggy morning. He outstretched his wings, suspecting the cold had killed his kind. He moved to the edge of the cliff unfolding his wings. As sure as he was standing there, something told him he wasn't the only dragon just the only golden dragon left.

He pushed his feet off the cliff and lifted off into the air diving down. He flared and flew strait, looking for another valley which contained dragons, a valley for him to call home.

Listen

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her. As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray. When she returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure her friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owner of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see. Good friends are like this . You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours...

Just A Thought

In all of my interactions with people, I've never found anyone, regardless of their level of success, who doesn't sometimes find themselves simply not wanting to do the things that they need and want to do.

It is a part of human nature that there will be times that, in spite of all that we need to do, and even desire to, we will find ourselves not wanting to do anything.

Fore what separates those who will become successful from those who will maintain the status-quo, is the ability at those very crucial moments of time when we are making decisions about what we will do, to choose to find the inner motivation that will enable us to conquer our complacency and move on in action...
