The Souls of people, on their way to Earth-life, pass through a room full of Lights; Each takes a Taper, often only a spark, to guide it in the dim country of this world. But some souls are rare fortune, are detained longer and have time to grab a handful of Tapers, which they weave into a Torch. These are the Torch-Bearers of humanity, its Poets, Seers, and Saints, who lead and lift the race out of darkness, towards the Light. They are the lawgivers and the Saviors, the Light-Bring..ers, Way- Show..ers and Truth-Tell..ers, and without them, Humanity would Loose its way in the Dark...

I Am A Divine Spark

Not all are called to be artists in the specific sense of the term. Yet, all men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life: in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece.

It is important to recognize the distinction, but also the connection, between these two aspects of human activity. The distinction is clear. It is one thing for human beings to be the authors of their own acts, with responsibility for their moral value; it is another to be an artist, able, that is, to respond to the demands of art and faithfully to accept art's specific dictates. This is what makes the artist capable of producing objects, but it says nothing as yet of his moral character. We are speaking not of moulding oneself, of forming one's own personality, but simply of actualizing one's productive capacities, giving aesthetic form to ideas conceived in the mind.

The distinction between the moral and artistic aspects is fundamental, but no less important is the connection between them. Each conditions the other in a profound way. In producing a work, artists express themselves to the point where their work becomes a unique disclosure of their own being, of what they are and of how they are what they are. And there are endless examples of this in human history. In shaping a masterpiece, the artist not only summons his work into being, but also in some way reveals his own personality by means of it. For him art offers both a new dimension and an exceptional mode of expression for his spiritual growth. Through his works, the artist speaks to others and communicates with them. The history of art, therefore, is not only a story of works produced but also a story of men and women. Works of art speak of their authors; they enable us to know their inner life, and they reveal the original contribution which artists offer to the history of culture.

The theme of beauty is decisive for a discourse on art. It was already present when I stressed God's delighted gaze upon creation. In perceiving that all he had created was good, God saw that it was beautiful as well. The link between good and beautiful stirs fruitful reflection. In a certain sense, beauty is the visible form of the good, just as the good is the metaphysical condition of beauty. This was well understood by the Greeks who, by fusing the two concepts, coined a term which embraces both: kalokagathía, or beauty-goodness. On this point Plato writes: “The power of the Good has taken refuge in the nature of the Beautiful”.

It is in living and acting that man establishes his relationship with being, with the truth and with the good. The artist has a special relationship to beauty. In a very true sense it can be said that beauty is the vocation bestowed on him by the Creator in the gift of “artistic talent”. And, certainly, this too is a talent which ought to be made to bear fruit, in keeping with the sense of the Gospel parable of the talents.

Here we touch on an essential point. Those who perceive in themselves this kind of divine spark which is the artistic vocation—as poet, writer, sculptor, architect, musician, actor and so on—feel at the same time the obligation not to waste this talent but to develop it, in order to put it at the service of their neighbor and of humanity as a whole.

Prayer For Peace

May all being everywhere plagued
with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending
one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless,
fearful wilderness–the children, the aged,
the unprotected–be guarded by beneficial celestials...

******

Evoking the presence of the great compassion, let us fill our hearts with our own compassion–towards ourselves and towards all living beings. Let us pray that all living beings realize that they are all brothers and sisters, all nourished from the same source of life.

The Lord Of Love

The Lord of Love holds in his hand the world,
Composed of the changing and the changeless,
The manifest and the unmanifest.
The separate self, not yet aware of the Lord,
Goes after pleasure, only to become
Bound more and more.
When it sees the Lord,
There comes an end to its bondage.

Be Kind To Yourself

While we're busy caring for others, let's not forget to be kind to ourselves. Most of us give generously of our time and energy to family members, friends, and co-workers--and often ignore our own needs. It may not be until we become physically or mentally exhausted, or financially depleted, that we wake up and pay attention to our own needs. At that point we remember the wisdom of the flight attendant: Put on your oxygen mask first, and then you'll be able to help others...

Every day millions of animals are born into lives of unspeakable suffering. Every day millions more suffer terrible deaths.

The only way to stop this cycle of cruelty is to get Governments to agree to end it. That is what a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare is all about and why you should vote to support it. By signing the petition you will be conveying to your Government that animals – and their welfare – matter to you. Please add your name to the million already collected. Governments are beginning to listen. Soon they will act. Every vote counts. Read more:

You

There is life within my body that responds to my thoughts and words of healing and renewal. I am healed because the life You created in me is a renewing life. The thoughts and the words I speak are extensions of my faith. I choose thoughts and words that proclaim the presence of His Spirit within me. These are thoughts which soothe my mind and words which are a calling for the healing of my body.

Thank You for renewing my life. I live fully and completely because I know that Your Spirit is living through me as health and vitality, enthusiasm and creativity. My faith in You sparks the healing response within me.

The beauty of ancient times calls to us in our dreams. Yes, it was a turbulent time, but there is a sense of romance and courage that today is not depicted as gallantly or as artfully as the old masters. Even new masters paint the past differently. They seek to show the human spirit, ever torrential, ever nurturing in a way that embodies the rhythm of the olden days. When time floated on the gentle pink clouds of the evening and we lingered on the lilting notes of the bard as they played on their lute. You will find me here in your dreams.

Fore I long for the robust solitude of the castle and the glen. I long for the sound of silk robes caressing the stones upon which I walk. The noise of the present replaced with the sounds of nature, the walls fading back to reveal wooded paths to explore, to dance with the aeries, to dine with the angels, to ride to glory upon a wild stallion once more.

Here in this dream I give you, a quiet path to contemplate the magic of life.

Dream of more valiant times with me...

Candlelight

Candlelight spills into your room.

It falls across your face and even mine.

It falls across your body,

It discovers you, your perfections, your Imperfections,

Your hopes and aspirations.

The candlelight is soft and so forgiving.

The candlelight is warm and inviting,

When the morning comes and the candle simply is.

Through it will have already discovered you,

Now it is gone the warmth is lost.

You are left in the twilight of early dawn.

You have been stripped bare as sleep rushes in.

Now sleep my love, for I am here.

I am still the candle that burns within...

I Am The Awakened Warrior

"It is my wish that the spiritual power of peace will touch every person on this earth, radiating from a deep peace within our own minds, across political and religious barriers, across the barriers of ego and self-righteousness. Our first task as peacemakers is to clear away our internal conflicts caused by ignorance, anger, grasping, jealousy, and pride. With the guidance of a spiritual teacher, this purification of our own minds can teach us the very essence of peacemaking. We should seek an inner peace so pure, so stable, that we cannot be moved to anger by those who live and profit by war, or to self-grasping and fear by those who confront us with contempt and hatred.

Extraordinary patience is necessary to work toward world peace, and the source of that patience is inner peace. Such peace enables us to see clearly that war and suffering are outer reflections of the mind's poisons. The essential difference between peacemakers and those who wage war is that peacemakers have discipline and control over egotistical anger, grasping, jealousy, and pride, whereas warmakers, out of ignorance, cause these poisons to manifest in the world. If you truly understand this, you will never allow yourself to be defeated from within or without.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the peacock is a symbol for the awakened warrior who works for the enlightenment of all beings. A peacock is said to eat poisonous plants, but to transform the poison into the gorgeous colors of its feathers. It does not poison itself. In the same way, we who advocate world peace must not poison ourselves with anger. Regard with equanimity the powerful, worldly men who control the war machines. Do your best to convince them of the necessity of peace, but be constantly aware of your state of mind. If you become angry, pull back. If you are able to act without anger, perhaps you will penetrate the terrible delusion that perpetrates war and its hellish suffering.

From the clear space of your own inner peace, your compassion must expand to include all who are involved in war, both the soldiers—whose intention is to benefit but who instead cause suffering and death and thus are caught by the terrible karma of killing—and the civilians who are wounded, killed, or forced into exile as refugees. True compassion is aroused by suffering of every sort, by the suffering of every being; it is not tied to right or wrong, attachment or aversion.

The work of peace is a spiritual path in itself, a means to develop the perfect qualities of mind and to test them against urgent necessity, extreme suffering, and death...

Metta is an attitude of recognizing that all sentient beings (that is, all beings that are capable of feeling), can feel good or feel bad, and that all, given the choice, will choose the former over the latter.

Metta is a recognition of the most basic solidarity that we have with others, this sharing of a common aspiration to find fulfillment and escape suffering.

Metta is empathy. It’s the willingness to see the world from another’s point of view: to walk a mile in another person’s shoes.

Metta is the desire that all sentient beings be well, or at least the ones we’re currently thinking about or in contact with. It’s wishing others well.

Metta is friendliness, consideration, kindness, generosity.

Metta is an attitude rather than just a feeling. It’s an attitude of friendliness.

Metta is the basis for compassion. When our Metta meets another’s suffering, then our Metta transforms into compassion.

Metta is the basis for shared joy. When our Metta meets with another’s happiness or good fortune, then it transmutes into an empathetic joyfulness.

Metta is boundless. We can feel Metta for any sentient being, regardless of gender, race, or nationality.

Metta is the most fulfilling emotional state that we can know. It’s the fulfillment of the emotional development of every being.

It’s our inherent potential. To wish another well is to wish that they be in a state of experiencing Metta.

Metta is the answer to almost every problem the world faces today. Money won’t do it. Technology won’t do it.
Metta will.

The First Unicorn

The Age of Gold is the Heart Age. To a Human, it is the Dawn of Time; the earliest of Ages. to a Unicorn, it is the Origin of Time; the innermost and truest of realities.

The First Unicorn

In the Beginning there was darkness. In the Beginning there is always darkness: the darkness formed by the absence of anything - even true Darkness. This darkness was simply an absence and it held no matter, no energy. Time and Space were not in evidence yet; there being nothing happening to define them by.

Then...

Something occured. Space exploded into being as the darkness rippled and undulated in shock. Time was less certain, but there was at least Duration. There was a Now, and the Past and the Future evolved from Nows previous and Nows yet to come. A Force had appeared: a Mover; a Creator. Whether travelling from some other Plain or spontaneous evolving, it didn't matter: it was here Now, and it meant business.

The Creator took the unending darkness and stretched it, forging two opposites so unalike that they might never merge again, and the Creator named these Light and Dark. And this amused the Creator mightily for a long duration, for the Light and the Dark battled, and the Creator marveled at how the Light would spread its shining illumination in the Darkness yet at the same time the Dark would cast shadow into the Light.

Then, in the tides of Light and Dark, the Creator perceived a strange thing. Where Light and Dark came into contact there was a vibration, a resonance, and he gave this vibration voice. It sounded throughout the Universe as a proud, triumphant note, so pure and beautiful that the Creator wished to take it further, and being a little lonely in the void, He gave the Note consciousness so that the note became a Spirit.

Encouraged, the Creator formed substance: an opposite to the emptiness of the void. He made a world; a solid surface of rock to serve as a canvas for his Purpose, and the Spirit would be his pen.

"Will you go for me?" He asked the Spirit. "Will you dwell upon this world I have made that I may work Creation through you? Will you take on solid form and become the first of my creatures? And you may choose, since both are within you, whether you be of Light, or of Dark."

And the Spirit joyfully ascented. Above the Earth, a mighty wind sprang into being, rushing over the barren soil and the desolate mountains, the empty valleys and bare plains. The wind swept in a wide circle then began to narrow, circling tighter and tighter, faster and faster. The winds became a tornado: a tapering spire of air that began to glow as it spiralled ever tighter, giving of waves of dazzling light, for it was Light the Spirit had chosen. At the tip where tornado met ground the light became brightest of all, and within this light the Creator's first creature appeared. Tall, and four-legged, standing upon cloven hooves, the dissipating wind whipped his flowing mane and tail, and upon his brow, still glowing with the golden fire of his forming, rose a slender spiral horn, as if the tornado of his creation had left the tip of itself behind.

The Creator looked upon this first Creature with pleasure, and said, "I will name you, now and forever, for the single horn that springs from your brow: I name you Unicorn, and forever will you be foremost amongst all my creatures. You shall be my standard: my symbol of beauty."

He bade the first Unicorn touch the tip of his marvelous horn to the top of a hill, and where the horn touched burst forth a torrent of clear water. This spring became a stream, then a river, and from the waters, life began to emerge. Grass spread out in a rippling ocean. Flowers and bushes blossomed, then trees erupted to form woodlands and forests. Fish swam in the waters, then animals began to creep forth, first the smallest, but rapidly growing: a multitude of infinitely varied creatures that walked and crawled, slithered and scurried, swam and flew, jumped and climbed.

And this pleased and amused the Creator mightily. This great and marvelous garden, which has since gone by so many names, was perfect and flawless. All creatures spoke with a common tongue, and all lived in accord. There was no Death, and there was no Time: a perpetually perfect place. And the Unicorn, sacred above all other creatures, gave names to each and every one, and for a timeless time, dwelt in true joy and happiness...

Love To All

Blessed Be

I pray we, all children of the earth, no matter our path to enlightenment, come to realize that we are one. We may walk our own paths, but we are not alone, for we walk at the same time, toward the same end/beginning. From our individual perspectives, be we Pagan, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddist, Taoist, or Hindu, are the same.

I pray that we all feel the love of our Creator(s) and by example learn to see each other as brothers and sisters, allowing the boundary lines of religion to fade away. May the Lord and Lady bless your path. May you always have enough, and may you give enough in return.

Blessed Be...

थे काल्मिंग एंजेल्स ऑफ़ पास

The Calming Angels of Peace

It was a day where everyone around me seemed to be upset by one thing or another. Since I was a readily available sympathetic ear, I listened to venting and ranting from my son, staff members, and friends . . . all about different wrongs and injustices that they’d incurred that day.
As I listened, I silently affirmed that each situation was already healed, and tried not to be reactive to the appearance of problems. After several hours of listening to their issues, though, I reached my maximum capacity, and was teetering on the verge of nose-diving into the bad mood energy of my family and friends.
So I began praying: “Angels of Peace, please calm me and my loved ones” repeatedly. I walked outside, feeling instinctively drawn to nature’s soothing effects. As I sat by a pond surrounded by water lilies and a pair of golden-brown frogs, I continued calling upon the Calming Angels of Peace.
Within minutes, my heart and breathing rate slowed down. I felt warm love swell in my chest once again, and I KNEW that everything with my loved ones was already resolved . . .in spiritual truth. And that the more that I held onto this knowledge, the more readily they’d experience peace in their lives.
When you’re peaceful and calm, you give a great gift to those around you: upliftment। You heal and teach about peace and spirituality by example. Try calling upon God’s Calming Angels of Peace . . . and spending time outdoors with God’s masterful creations . . . and enjoy the oasis of divine stillness within your heart, mind, and life.

Conscious Evolution

Conscious Evolution is a process in the universe that is ongoing; otherwise, our children wouldn't be smarter than us, which they are-and there wouldn't be any progress in the world. So the universe is constantly moving in the direction of higher evolutionary impulses, creativity, abstraction, and meaning. Conscious evolution is the ability of human beings to consciously participate in that process; we are a species that is conscious of our consciousness. We can actually accelerate the process through meditation, through the ability to find stillness through loving actions, through compassion and sharing, through understanding the nature of the creative process in the universe and having a sense of connection to it...

God Lives Under The Bed

I envy Kevin. My brother Kevin thinks God lives under his bed. At least that's what I heard him say one night.

He was praying out loud in his dark bedroom, and I stopped to listen, 'Are you there, God?' he said. 'Where are you? Oh, I see. Under the bed...'

I giggled softly and tiptoed off to my own room. Kevin's unique perspectives are often a source of amusement. But that night something else lingered long after the humor. I realized for the first time the very different world Kevin lives in. He was born 30 years ago, mentally disabled as a result of difficulties during labor. Apart from his size (he's 6-foot-2), there are few ways in which he is an adult.

He reasons and communicates with the capabilities of a 7-year-old, and he always will. He will probably always believe that God lives under his bed, that Santa Claus is the one who fills the space under our tree every Christmas and that airplanes stay up in the sky because angels carry them.

I remember wondering if Kevin realizes he is different. Is he ever dissatisfied with his monotonous life? Up before dawn each day, off to work at a workshop for the disabled, home to walk our cocker spaniel, return to eat his favorite macaroni-and-cheese for dinner, and later to bed. The only variation in the entire scheme is laundry, when he hovers excitedly over the washing machine like a mother with her newborn child. He does not seem dissatisfied. He lopes out to the bus every morning at 7:05, eager for a day of simple work. He wrings his hands excitedly while the water boils on the stove before dinner, and he stays up late twice a week to gather our dirty laundry for his next day's laundry chores.

And Saturdays-oh, the bliss of Saturdays! That's the day my Dad takes Kevin to the airport to have a soft drink, watch the planes land, and speculate loudly on the destination of each passenger inside. 'That one's goin' to Chi-car-go!' Kevin shouts as he claps his hands. His anticipation is so great he can hardly sleep on Friday nights. And so goes his world of daily rituals and weekend field trips. He doesn't know what it means to be discontent. His life is simple. He will never know the entanglements of wealth of power, and he does not care what brand of clothing he wears or what kind of food he eats. His needs have always been met, and he never worries that one day they may not be.

His hands are diligent. Kevin is never so happy as when he is working. When he unloads the dishwasher or vacuums the carpet, his heart is completely in it. He does not shrink from a job when it is begun, and he does not leave a job until it is finished. But when his tasks are done, Kevin knows how to relax. He is not obsessed with his work or the work of others. His heart is pure; he still believes everyone tells the truth, promises must be kept, and when you are wrong, you apologize instead of argue.

Free from pride and unconcerned with appearances, Kevin is not afraid to cry when he is hurt, angry or sorry. He is always transparent, always sincere. And he trusts God. Not confined by intellectual reasoning, when he comes to Christ, he comes as a child. Kevin seems to know God - to really be friends with Him in a way that is difficult for an 'educated' person to grasp. God seems like his closest companion.

In my moments of doubt and frustrations with my Christianity I envy the security Kevin has in his simple faith. It is then that I am most willing to admit that he has some divine knowledge that rises above my mortal questions. It is then I realize that perhaps he is not the one with the handicap. I am.

My obligations, my fear, my pride, my circumstances - they all become disabilities when I do not trust them to God's care. Who knows if Kevin comprehends things I can never learn? After all, he has spent his whole life in that kind of innocence, praying after dark and soaking up the goodness and love of God. And one day, when the mysteries of heaven are opened, and we are all amazed at how close God really is to our hearts, I'll realize that God heard the simple prayers of a boy who believed that God lived under his bed.

Kevin won't be surprised at all!

Blessed One

Blessed One, at this most critical time I entrust the United States Of America to your loving care. Reclaim this land for your glory. I am overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, and cry to you from the depths of my heart and seek refuge in your protection. Look down with mercy and touch the hearts of all people in this country. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life.

Grant this country the wisdom to proclaim that your law is the foundation on which this nation was founded and that you alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Oh Merciful one, give me the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new culture of life.

Trusting in your most powerful intersession, I pray.

Remember Oh most Gracious One, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. I am inspired by this confidence Blessed One...

Life

In order to lead a happy, fulfilled, abundant life one has to be able to hear the quieter voices. To be still and hear them requires some skill. To know what questions to ask requires some knowledge. To know how to create your heart’s desire and live it daily requires wisdom and an action plan...

Foregiveness

Forgiveness is not the misguided act of condoning irresponsible, hurtful behavior. Nor is it a superficial turning of the other cheek that leaves us feeling victimized and martyred. Rather it is the finishing of old business that allows us to experience the present, free of contamination from the past.

My World

Tonight we touch as if for the first time, remember the excitement the taste of the forbidden love. Our lips will touch, tasting each other. Soft at first, then firm, then with passion. We will watch our inhibitions float away. Unthinkable thoughts turn into heavenly deeds. Lets fade away forever from the mortal souls that pretend to know a love like ours. They will never feel this torrent of passion and desire. The wind is a quivering breath that will turn into a mighty storm. Lighting strikes your heart. We will live a lifetime in these moonlight hours never looking back on the dawn of day. Let's be in love for one night that lasts for millions of years on earth. We will never fade, this fire will not smolder and die. I have given you a gift like no other before me.

I give you my world of fantasy...

His Light Guides Me Home

I feel an almost instant relief from the tensions of work or the fatigue of travel as soon as I see a light shining from my home. That light welcomes me to the sanctity of my home. No matter how gloomy circumstances may appear, the light from His Spirit is always shining within me, dispelling any darkness and revealing my way.

In the sanctity of my soul, He welcomes me home. Knowing this, I remain focused on what must be accomplished and feel at peace, knowing He will always guide me home...

Touched

On a dark night, kindled in love with yearnings - oh, happy chance! I went forth without being observed, my house being now at rest. In darkness and secure, by the secret ladder, disguised in darkness and concealment. In the happy night, in secret, when no one saw me, without light or guide, save that which burned in my heart. This light guided me more surely than the light of noonday to the place where he was awaiting me. A place where no one appeared. Oh, night that guided me, with light more lovely than the dawn, night that joined me Beloved with lover. Lover transformed in the Beloved.

Upon my flowery breast kept wholly for himself alone there he stayed sleeping, and I caressed him, and the fanning of the cedars made a breeze. The breeze blew from the turret as I parted his locks; with his gentle hand he touched me and caused all my senses to be suspended. I remained lost in oblivion, my face I reclined on the Beloved. All ceased and I abandoned myself, leaving my cares forgotten among the lilies...

This be the way and manner which the soul follows upon the road of the union of love...

I Believe

I believe in the unity of all humankind, and therefore the unity of all religions. This means that I believe that all religions teach the same truth. I therefore reject prejudice--racial, political, or otherwise--and stress ethical teachings such as world peace, education, and sexual equality. Although I believe that God is completely unknowable, I hold that God's presence and works are evident in the creation of the world and the existence of the prophets, among other things...

Saundra

These eyes they grieve in pity for my heart. I have known the suffering of every tear utterly undone they fall. Will they remember the words I spoke? My gentle heart goes willingly with her, but I must remain here. Weeping, I then will speak of her again, and again, who to her heaven came so suddenly, leaving Love grieving here on earth with me.

To the high heaven she has gone, up to the realm where Angels dwell in peace, she lives with them now. To this world she bade farewell. Tis no degree of cold on her has won, nor of such heat as makes all others cease: it only was her goodness, great appeal. So did her shining humbleness excel, it passed the heavens with such wondrous worth, it moved to marvel the eternal Sire, so that a sweet desire pricked Him to call such worthiness from earth, and made her to himself go from down here: for when He saw this life of suffering had not been made for such a gentle thing...

Her gentle spirit, full of gentle grace, at last departed from her beauteous frame, and chose in glory its most worthy home. He who weeps not, {Mark David Breakiron} when talking of her trace, harbors a heart of wickedness and shame, to which no kindly spirits ever shall come...

No mind, if heart is wicked, may so roam as to imagine in the least her lot: therefore no grief or weeping will transpire. But sadness and desire of tears and sighs and death, and every thought that fails to comfort for a loss of immense, conquer those souls that even once recall the thing she was, now taken from us all...

Ahhhhhhhhh so much anguish nearly halts my breath when the least thought to this comes in my grievous mind brings back the one who split my heart in me; and oftentimes, when thinking of her death the color from my face fades utterly. And when the imagining is sharp in me, from everywhere I'm struck by such dismay that at the ache I feel right then I start, and so distraught it grows. Fore it is then that I am alone in every crowd...

I wander in my tears...

For a face that looks like mine.
